Vangelis Marangakis
Mr. E. I. Marangakis is a shareholder of Quantum and has a unique understanding of the maritime industry.
His academic background comes from a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, completed in the U.S.A. and complemented by a M.Sc. in Maritime Safety Administration & Marine Engineering at IMO’s World Maritime University in Sweden. He has sailed as an engineer on board tankers & bulk carriers and later spent four years in a Tanker Management Company, starting of as a Superintendent and swiftly advancing to Technical Manager and later Designated Person Ashore.
He then worked for Det Norske Veritas, as a Lead Auditor of ISM and other Management Systems as well as a trainer, for another three years.
Nick Filos
Mr. Nick G. Filos is a Marine/Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years of diversified Technical Shipping expertise, being the 2nd generation of a shipping family.
He has multi-diverse experience in Technical Management and specialization in the areas of Regulatory matters (Class, Statutory & International bodies), Conversions, Condition & Pre-Purchase Surveys/Inspections, Bunker Surveys, HSQE Systems development & Assessments/Audits, Claims Handling and most IT fields & Shipping Software.
He is a holder of an MSc degree in Marine Engineering from University College London (UCL), and a BEng (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from City University, London. He is also a member of the Institute of Marine Engineers (IMarE), the Engineering Council of London, Hellenic Technical Chamber and HELMEPA.
